Yahoo! Movies has just premiered the first official trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I, which will arrive in theaters nationwide on November 19 and will be followed by the final film in the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II, which will be released in July 15, 2011. Ain't it Cool News has revealed some brand new concept images of the costumes from the upcoming film. While the site reported that they came from a different source, JoBlo, who broke the original story, confirmed that these new images, "aren't just fan mockups - these are the real deal".

It was reported a few weeks ago that screenwriter Alvin Sargent was being brought on to work on an upcoming superhero reboot script and now it seems that its down to five actors to star in the film. Heat Vision Blog is reporting that the final five candidates to star as Peter Parker in the Untitled Spider-Man Reboot are Jamie Bell, Alden Ehrenreich, Frank Dillane, Andrew Garfield and Josh Hutcherson.

It was said that director Marc Webb had been meeting with numerous candidates over the past few months and it was said that while these are some of the top contenders for the role, Webb and the studio are still "on the lookout" for other candidates as well. I know, I know, everyone is talking about Lost and I'll say this now, Iv'e never watched lost so it should come as no surprise that I didn't watch the season finale. The reason is simple, it's not a bad show by any means, I just never had the urge or time to start watching it. I used to watch Prison Break and 24 would come on right after, after awhile, I felt intrigued enough to go out and buy the first season on DVD. And before I knew it, I had watched all five seasons in less then a month, this was in 2007. I missed most of the sixth season but I watched the last few episodes anyway. Once it came out on DVD later that year, I got all caught up. Unfortunetly, because of that stupid Writers Strike, I had to wait a full extra year for season seven, then after that, season eight came around and that was the last we'd see of Jack Bauer on TV, or so we thought, no seriously, they actually ended it that time, for good.

Before I can talk about the eighth season & the finale, I might as well briefly discuss the series and it’s progression. The first season is still to this day one of the best, the concept was very interesting and original for it's time and it introduced us to some great (and not so great) characters. The second season wasn't as good as the first but still had some good moments and created the ongoing sequel status that it is now. Season three was an improvement from the last two and in my opinion was the best of the first three. Season four wasn't as exiting and memorable as the first three. Season five however, while I didn't like how they killed off so many of my favorite characters we got to know over the course of the series was the best by far, it had me on the edge of my seat (or "couch") and was TV Drama at it's best. Season six was it where it dropped the ball and was in my opinion, the weakest of series. It started out with potential but then just fell flat on it's face. The writing wasn't as intense or nail biting as it's predeccors, it explored tired ideas and just lacked the freshness of it's predessors. Season seven gave us a new look at 24, I didn't like how they brought back Tony Almada just to make him the bad guy. He just went against everything he fought for in the first five season. It did however have some decent twists and got rid of the bad taste in my mouth from season six.

Overall, the really liked the eighth season, not the best of the bunch but certainly not the worst. A 24 movie sounds hit or miss to me, if they are to go out and make a feature length film, I would like to see them do something we havn't seen on TV already, that's the problem, 24 has raised the bar so high, they would have to top it. I mean why go out to the movie theatre, pay extra for popcorn, deal with everything you have to deal with in a movie theatre when you can watch something just as good in your own living room?

24 is not perfect by any means but it is a show that has impacted TV, politics and how America views itself more than anything else on television.

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Megan Fox will not return as Mikaela Banes in Transformers 3.

The site is reporting that Paramount decided not to pick up the option on the actress, news that was confirmed by Variety, but Deadline reports that the decision was ultimately up to director Michael Bay. It was said that Bay is finishing up work on the script with writer Ehren Kruger and they are, "giving Shia a new love interest makes more sense for the story," according to one of the site's sources.

While there has been friction in the past between Fox and Bay, including an interview where Fox compared Bay to Hitler, the Variety story indicates the decision was unrelated to those remarks.

Transformers 3 comes to theaters July 1st, 2011 and stars Shia LaBeouf, Julie White, Kevin Dunn, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Alan Tudyk, John Malkovich. The film is directed by Michael Bay.

Overture Films has provided us with the first official image from the upcoming remake Let Me in, which arrives in theaters everywhere on October 1. Above is the image of Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass) who plays Abby in this new remake, which is directed by Matt Reeves.

Let Me in comes to theaters October 1st, 2010 and stars Richard Jenkins, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Chloe Moretz, Jimmy Pinchak, Sasha Barrese, Chris Browning, Cara Buono, Seth Adkins. The film is directed by Matt Reeves.

Warner Bros. Pictures has set a July 20th, 2012 release date for Christopher Nolan's third Batman movie in conventional and IMAX theaters!

Nolan's second Batman movie, The Dark Knight, opened July 18, 2008 and earned more than $1 billion at the worldwide box office. Let's hope this next movie delivers!

007 producers, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli of EON Productions, today announced they have suspended development on the next James Bond film previously scheduled for release 2011/2012.

"Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of MGM and the failure to close a sale of the studio, we have suspended development on Bond 23 indefinitely. We do not know when development will resume and do not have a date for the release of Bond 23," stated Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli jointly.

EON Productions have produced twenty two James Bond films since 1962. In 1995, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli took over the 007 franchise from Albert R. Broccoli and are responsible for producing some of the most successful James Bond films ever, including Casino Royale and more recently Quantum of Solace. The James Bond franchise is the longest running in film history. EON Productions and Danjaq LLC are affiliate companies and control all worldwide merchandising for James Bond.

James Bond 23 is in development and stars Daniel Craig, Judi Dench. The film is directed by Sam Mendes.

Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Sid Ganis and Oscar-nominated actress Anne Hathaway arose early this morning to announce The 82nd Annual Academy Award nominations. Avatar tied with The Hurt Locker for most recognized film of 2009, with both garnering nine nominations each.

Oscars will be given out when The 82nd Annual Academy Award airs live on Sunday, March 7th from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. Only on ABC. This year, a total of ten films were nominated for best picture.

It only took six weeks for James Cameron's new film to top his previous film's worldwide record. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Avatar has become the top-grossing film of all time at the worldwide box office passing Titanic's monumental worldwide gross.

Avatar currently stands at $551.7 million at the domestic box office and $1.292 billion international box office, giving it a total of $1.843 billion, which passes the $1.84 billion that Titanic earned 13 years ago. Fox confirmed that the mark fell sometime early on Monday.

Avatar is still approximately $49 million away from Titanic's domestic box office record of $600.8 million.

The Hollywood Reporter reports the latest No. 1 weekend overseas tally was $108.3 million grossed from 11,925 screens in 111 markets. It was the sixth consecutive weekend that Avatar grossed more than $100 million on the foreign circuit.

Avatar is directed by James Cameron and stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Peter Mensah, Laz Alonso, Wes Studi, Stephen Lang and Matt Gerald.

Among the key territories on the weekend were: France (cume $124.8 million), Germany ($95.8 million), the U.K. ($93.2 million), South Korea ($79.7 million), Japan ($77.7 million), Australia ($77 million) and Spain ($76 million). "Avatar" is now the biggest-grossing film of all time in China, Spain, Russia, Hong Kong and Chile. It is the biggest Hollywood film ever to play in India.

The latest gross numbers underscore yet again the importance of the foreign circuit playoff to Avatar's success. Nearly 70% of the film's worldwide revenues come from overseas. That's about the same as the 67% slice of Titanic's worldwide total gross that originated abroad.

Peculiar to Avatar's success is the latest wave of exhibition technology. At least 65% of its overseas boxoffice and nearly 80% of its domestic earnings derive from 3D venues, which charge the equivalent of several dollars more than conventional theatrical sites. Imax locations worldwide playing Avatar have rolled up $134 million in 38 days at ticket prices at about $15 each.

Big contributors to Avatar's foreign success are China and Russia, two key territories that were not significant boxoffice factors when Titanic played overseas. On the weekend, Avatar secured $12.5 million in China, boosting the market cume to $103 million. In Russia, the weekend tally was $4.8 million for a market cume of $96.3 million.

Then there is the inflation factor. According to a formula developed by the department of U.S. Labor Statistics, Titanic's 1997 worldwide gross is worth at least $2.5 billion on an inflation adjusted basis, or $805 million domestic and $1.664 billion foreign.

Still champ is Gone With the Wind, which grossed $400 million worldwide in 1939, now worth at least $6 billion in today's dollars. One dollar in 1939 is the equivalent of $15.43 today.

Otherwise, the weekend lineup of the top five films overseas remained constant. Warner Bros.' Sherlock Holmes from director Guy Ritchie, stayed at No. 2 with $17.2 million from 4,758 screens in 58 markets for a cume of $197 million. In third place was Fox's family-oriented Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, which garnered $11.6 million from 4,776 screens in 60 markets for a foreign cume of $175.2 million.

Thanks to openings in 17 territories, Paramount's Up in the Air, director Jason Reitman's comedy-drama starring George Clooney, emerged at No. 4 with $11.2 million derived from 2,039 spots in 23 markets for an early cume of $19.7 million. Fifth was It's Complicated, Universal's romantic comedy with Meryl Streep, which bagged $10.4 million from 2,569 situations in 32 territories for a cume of $50.9 million.

Sony Pictures has just announced that plans for Spider-Man 4 have been scrapped and the studio is moving forward on a complete reboot of the entire franchise. Here's the studio's press release below.

Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios announced today they are moving forward with a film based on a script by James Vanderbilt that focuses on a teenager grappling with both contemporary human problems and amazing super-human crises.

The new chapter in the Spider-Man franchise produced by Columbia, Marvel Studios and Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin, will have a new cast and filmmaking team. Spider-Man 4 was to have been released in 2011, but had not yet gone into production.

"A decade ago we set out on this journey with Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire and together we made three Spider-Man films that set a new bar for the genre. When we began, no one ever imagined that we would make history at the box-office and now we have a rare opportunity to make history once again with this franchise. Peter Parker as an ordinary young adult grappling with extraordinary powers has always been the foundation that has made this character so timeless and compelling for generations of fans. We're very excited about the creative possibilities that come from returning to Peter's roots and we look forward to working once again with Marvel Studios, Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin on this new beginning," said Amy Pascal, co-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment.

"Working on the Spider-Man movies was the experience of a lifetime for me. While we were looking forward to doing a fourth one together, the studio and Marvel have a unique opportunity to take the franchise in a new direction, and I know they will do a terrific job," said Sam Raimi.

"We have had a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration and friendship with Sam and Tobey and they have given us their best for the better part of the last decade.
