Iv'e always had a love for movies. Iv'e had several ideas for a film but never got the chance to make or write anything. Then I discovered YouTube in summer of 2007, I originally used it for watching movie trailers and sometimes people would upload entire episodes from old shows and movies. I came across some reviews for movies and got the idea of making reviews.
By now, it was sometime in late 2008, I had no idea how to sign up, let alone make a video. So a friend of mine made my account for me, designed it, wrote the description etc. I went on vacation for Christmas and when I got back on New Years of 2009, I finally signed in and started interacting with other users on the site. For the next month, I wrote some of my ideas on paper and figured out the basics of video editing. My reviews at the time were very simple, I used Windows Movie Maker and pictures I found off of Google. Oddly enough, they weren't even of movies, they were of games (Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2). I wanted my next review to be of something Star Trek related, the new movie was coming out and I was very exited.
My channel was to gamish for movie reviews so I just made a new one. I still didn't know what Star Trek movie to review, I posted a couple reviews of The Simpsons Movie and The Dark Knight and I wanted to review something bad for once, like something really awful. Star Trek V: The Final Frontier was the first thing that came to mind, I was originally gonna post it on that channel as an "Angry Review", but since that channel only had like 3 subscribers at the time, I just said What the heck, I'll make another freaking channel. I was glad how it turned out and wanted to do more in that style, I couldn't decide on a name though, Roberts Angry Reviews, The Angry Reviewer, The Super Angry Movie Dork? Yes, that was my original name, I wasn't that angry, so I took super out of it and behold, The Angry Movie Dork was born!
I uploaded my review of Star Trek V and got some pretty good feedback, I myself wished the audio could have been better and I didn't know why it was so damp compared to other reviews. I soon noticed it was Windows Movie Maker, I tried various other programs and microphones, it took me almost a full year to finally find the right combination of stuff.
